Your instructor profile photo is one of the most important elements of your Class in the Kitchen profile. A good first impression encourages the viewer to click through to your class page to learn more information about your cooking classes. Here are some tips to make sure you make the best first impression:
Find the Right Lighting
Ensure your light source is shining in the direction of your face and not coming from behind. This would cast a shadow on your face which would not be good for your photo. Natural light is great as a light source or if taking your photo indoors, be sure to place a soft lamp nearby to give a natural lighting effect.
A nice smile is important, but you will want to avoid an unatural or forced smile.
Put on your favorite chef's coat or a really nice apron. If this is not something you would like to do err on the side of dressing up a bit.
Stand or sit in front of background as neutral as possible. If you are taking your photo inside, be sure your background is free of clutter. Photos taken outside with greenery as a backdrop work well too. Make sure the focus in the photo is on you and not your background. Avoid busy backgrounds with designs, printed words, geometric shapes or lines.
