What is a W-9 and why should I complete one?

Instructors that use Class in the Kitchen's online marketplace to provide live, online cooking class instruction are independent contractors and because of this, are required to submit a completed W-9 to Class in the Kitchen for tax purposes only if the instructor's total earnings are greater than $599.99 over the course of a tax year.

Instructors must have a valid US address and Taxpayer Identification Number (ex: social security number)  to successfully complete this form.  In the event that a instructor earns more than $599.99, they will be notified and given instructions for completing the W-9 form.

The only instructors who are eligible to receive the 1099-MISC form are those whom have earned more than $599.99 during that particular tax year.
